Pearls are among the oldest and most universal
of all gems with the honor of "Queen of treasures”,
owing to its elegance and pure quality. International Gemmological
Field also nominates pearl as birth-stone of June, and the souvenir
for 13th and 30th anniversary of marriage. It symbolizes purity,
dignity, elegance and power.

generation of pearl can be traced back to 200 million years before,
when shellfish began to multiply. Pearl is also a kind of jewel
early used by people. The opening chapter "Genesis" of
Bible records that Pishon river flowing out from Eden has pearl
and agate. "Fahua Jing" and "Amituo Jing" record
that pearl is one of "seven Buddha treasures". China is
one of the countries earlist using pearl in the world.
Legends of pearl
| In legend, pearl was formed by tear drops of JIAO-----also
know as mermaid in western stories. Another story said that
pearl was formed when Venus was born in shells (refer to picture).

Pearl in the world
Natural perals mainly distribute in sea warter in temperate zones.
According to the origin place, natural pearls are categorized into
East Pearls and South Seas Pearls.
East pearls stand the majority of natural pearls and have two main
origin places.
1. Persian Strait---a sea area east to Saudi Arabia and west to
Iran. 90% high quality natural perals are generated here with white
color and strong shining luster.
2. Sri Lanka seashore, pearls in this district are white color with
green blue or purple luster.
